Every name in the database comes with meanings, origins, and variants so you can make an informed choice, not just a gut-feel one. We put particular care into Irish names — traditional, modern, and anglicised forms — because great Irish name resources are hard to find in one place.

Names are filterable by gender, starting letter, origin, and popularity tier so you can narrow the field to what actually resonates with you.

BabyName is an independent side project, built to make a genuinely stressful decision more fun and collaborative. There is no big company behind it, no VC funding, and no data sold to third parties. The name data comes from curated public sources and ongoing research.
